Focal Point presents the STL Songwriter’s Showcase. The showcase highlights St. Louis-based performers representing some of the best singer songwriters in the metropolitan area. You will get to learn about the stories behind the songs and hear the songs presented by their authors. Check out below for the artists who will be performing at this month’s show.
* Joshua Vorvick. Former St. Louis resident, now living in Iowa, Joshua has the distinction of being the only two-time winner of the prestigious “Golden Pick” songwriting contest at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. He is currently in rotation with the Bluebird’s Sunday Writers Night series.
* Joeboy (Joe Rohlman). A veteran St. Louis player and recording artist. Plays out as part of the “Well Wishers” duo. Joe writes in free-flowing jazzy style. He will be on keyboards.
* Karen Choi is a singer/songwriter living in the St. Louis Area. She was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska where she was introduced to roots music through her father’s involvement in a local bluegrass band. Over the last few years, Karen has supported acts such as Son Volt, Courtney Marie Andrews, Heartless Bastards and Sixpence none the Richer
* Miranda Osorio. At 23, Miranda is the ‘kid’ in the row. She only recently began writing after performing at weekly open mics. Her first attempts at writing are nothing short of spectacular and her voice is an absolute show-stopper. She is truly a rising star.
