Dizzy Atmosphere

Dizzy Atmosphere is an elegant, lighthearted trio featuring vintage swing stylings of the ’20’s ’30’s and ’40’s.
Collectively influenced by an range of American (Joe Venuti & Eddie Lang, Stuff Smith), European (Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli) and Latin (Antonio Carlos Jobim, Xavier Cugat) recording artists, Dizzy Atmosphere’s repertoire demonstrates a broad variety, equally adept at playing Hot Club tunes from Paris, America’s swing standards, and the understated charm of Latin dance classics.
Christopher Voelker has performed as a featured guest with Gene Lynn, Farshid Etniko, Swing Set, Joe Park’s Hot Club of St Louis, and has contributed to CDs by Ron Reichard, Eric Foreman, Building Rome, Jon Heisserer, Michelle Isam, Connibal Road, Adriana Larkin, Nancy Lippincott and Elliot Ranney. He has played with orchestras in Boston, San Antonio, Kansas City and St Louis. Earthy and swinging, his violin lends an air of casual elegance to this trio’s sound.
Richard Tralles has performed and recorded with Miss Jubilee & her Yas Yas Boys, Vendors of Substance, Box of Nerves, Swing Set and Diesel Island as bassist, vocalist and songwriter. His swinging sensibilities, percussive solos and soulful singing have added significantly to Dizzy’s harmonic and rhythmic substance.
Joe Park has performed with Miss Jubilee, Sidney Street Shakers, Tommy Halloran’s Guerrilla Swing, and Sarah Jane and the Blue Notes. He is currently the leader of two of his own bands – Joe Park Trio and Hot Club of St. Louis.

Dizzy Atmosphere has performed at the Missouri History Museum, the St Louis Art Museum, the Festival of Nations, Laumeier Art Fair, the Shaw Art Fair, the Whitaker Music Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden, Webster Arts Fair, Old Webster Jazz and Blues Festival, the Dark Room and at the Sheldon Concert Hall, portions of which have been broadcast by HEC-TV.
Dizzy Atmosphere’s CD ‘Gaslight’ released in 2018, is available at Euclid Records, Vintage Vinyl and Trusty Chords. Recordings of this and have been featured on local stations WSIE at 88.7 FM, KDHX at 88.1 FM, KMOX at 1120 AM, WQNA at 88.3 FM and on HEC-TV.
