Donate to the Focal Point
So as you folks can imagine things have been tough for the focal point this year. We have had to cancel so many amazing shows and many of our national artists have decided to cancel tours and it has undoubtedly hurt our bottom line. Each month our rent is still due, utility companies still want money, and ASCAP, BMI and SESAC still require us to pay hefty licensing fees despite the fact that our doors are closed. As many of you know, we operate mainly on donations and a grant from the Regional Arts Commission. Each year, grants are scored and this year we did very well and will receive funding for 2020-21. However, because RAC is funded by local hotel taxes, which are way down due to Covid-19, we will only receive around 40% of what we would normally receive This means the focal point won’t be seeing about $8000 that we need to get through this unprecedented time. As of now we hope to open back up with a limited capacity in late summer but until we all know more we will continue to stay closed. I ask that if you can, please consider making a gift to the Focal Point to help make up for a reduced grant as well as lost ticket revenue. I know there are many wonderful not-for-profit organizations that need your help but we would like you to consider making a gift to the Focal Point. We have monthly giving options that start at as little as $5 a month. We will be back soon and can sure use your help. Even if you can not give at this time you can help by sharing this post.
Thank you for considering a gift,
Michael J Holtz
General Manager / Vice-President of the Board
